From the Introduction:

I was quite happy Massaging away all day, every day in my exclusive and very successful West Hampstead clinic – until the day I experienced sharp and debilitating pains in both my wrists. Suddenly, there was no way I could apply any pressure whatsoever through my wrists without excruciating pain. Just as I opened my mouth to say to my Russian client "I’m so sorry, I simply cannot Massage you as my wrists are injured", he started making purring noises and said:
“Oh Yes, that is goooooooood”.

I opened my eyes to discover that I was looking down at the carpet! In my despair I had inadvertently slumped onto his back. I was looking at the carpet over his back on the other side of the Massage table! With considerable embarrassment I looked down at my arms and was surprised to find that (luckily) I had landed on his back with the soft fleshy parts of my forearm. And he was loving it! In a last ditch attempt to salvage my practise - I knew that the RSI injuries I had just sustained in both my wrists this morning would put me out of action for many months - I put oil on my forearms and tentatively started this New Massage...
